Congratulations Charger Band on your 1st Place and Grand Champion performance this weekend! Congrats to the Colorguard on being selected as best Guard of the contest! We are very happy for you and proud of what you are doing, band. It is exciting to see the entire show on the field and now we get to clean! Thank you to the parent volunteers for helping us get from point A to point B, having plumes ready, moving and unloading equipment and props and everything else that goes into a contest. You are much appreciated.

A tough contest is in our near future and we have some work to do this week. Not only is that our focus, but we are needing to learn our next dance team tune, start a fundraiser, get a BPA meeting going all with an early release this week. Reminder: THIS IS WEEK 8 OF THE 9 WEEKS GRADING PERIOD! YOU MUST BE PASSING ALL OF YOUR CLASSES BY END OF NEXT WEEK FOR ANOTHER ELIGIBILITY GRADE CHECK!

SATURDAY – Texas Marching Classic

Wear your Travel T, marching band shorts, long black socks and marching shoes to rehearsal. Ladies and long haired gentlemen, have your hair done prior to rehearsal. Clean gloves are needed. Have horns polished and in working order before contest. You should arrive having already eaten breakfast. Please have HEALTHY snacks for bus, filled water jug, replenishing drinks: Powerade/Gatorade/Propel, sun block, cap and sunglasses for watching bands in the stands.

6:15am – Band Hall Opens

7:00am – Run through rehearsal begins

8:00am – Rehearsal ends/eat student brought snacks/pack/load

8:45am – depart

11:45am – arrive/restroom/water/unload

12:45pm – Warm Up

1:30pm – Warm Up ends/move to gate

1:45pm – Performance

2:00pm– Lunch provided at Stadium

2:30pm – watch bands

4:00pm – Staff and Drum Majors get ready for Prelims Awards

5:00pm – Presentation of Awards

5:30pm – Dinner at Stadium

6:45pm – Gates Open

7:30pm – Finals Begins

10:15pm – Finals Ends

10:45– Finals Presentation

11:15pm – Depart for San Antonio/meal provided

2:30am – Arrive on campus/dismissal

***STUDENTS: Please pass school. Be at tutorials and get work turned in, please. You have two more weeks until another eligibility grade check. We have a pep rally this week – please be ready – show shirt and khaki shorts are needed all day. When in stands watching other bands or at awards ceremony, you must be on your best behavior. Have water jugs with you, sun block, cap and sunglasses and any spending money for patches or shirts, etc. Please make sure you travel with a chaperone and in 2’s when moving at contests.

***PARENTS AND STUDENTS: Freshly washed uniforms are due back on Tuesday from the band. Thank you to those that helped at our contest!
