Eleventh Week of School

Week 11 of School – 10/28/19-11/2/19 – Leadership Meeting, Trunk or Treat, guard sectionals, drumline performances, Heroes Stadium Rehearsal, Churchill vs Johnson, USBands Remo Cup

Hopefully everyone had a great weekend and we our in our final push to end of a fantastic marching season! This will be an exciting week with some tasty treats along the way! We will be having the trunk or treat on Monday where after rehearsal we will have a costume contest and all families are encouraged to get with the BPA Board to set up a table to pass out candy to the band kids and little. Bring the whole family.

We will have a pep rally this week, so please have your SHOW shirt and jeans for cooler weather. The Remo Cup is our last show for the year and let’s go out with our best one yet. Info is below. Here is the schedule for the week:

MONDAY – Midwest Sectional/Trunk or Treat

7:30am – Midwest Sectional

8:15am – Leadership Meeting

1st Period – Instrumental Ensemble

2nd Period – Music Theory

3rd Period – Instrumental Ensemble

4th Period – Wind Ensemble into 5th lunch

6th Period – Symphonic Band starting from 5th lunch

7th Period – Concert Band/Guard

8th Period – Concert Percussion

4:45pm – Full Band Rehearsal- Students are encouraged to wear a costume to rehearsal. Staff asks that you are able to perform/rehearse to your fullest ability if you wear a costume. We will end rehearsal with a Costume Contest! Please note: Costumes are not allowed during school hours!

7:15pm – Rehearsal ends! Costume Contest!

7:30 pm- Trunk or Treat- Event will take place in the amphitheatre. Parents please park near the JROTC lot. You are welcome to arrive at 6:30 to set up your own table.

FRIDAY - Game Day! Churchill vs Johnson/Pep Rally

7:45am – Pep Rally warm up in BH1 wear show shirt and jeans

8:05am – set up

8:15am – Pep Rally begins

1st Period – Instrumental Ensemble

2nd Period – Music Theory

3rd Period – Instrumental Ensemble

4th Period – Wind Ensemble into 5th lunch

6th Period – Symphonic Band starting from 5th lunch

7th Period – Concert Band/Guard

8th Period – Concert Percussion

4:35pm - band meets on turf field in horn arcs for stretch and warm up/show shirt or travel T, shorts and black socks and marching shoes needed for this (including front ensemble for materials).

4:45pm- full run of the show

5:00pm - front ensemble/guard loads/ winds and battery work any details needed

5:10pm - run through ends for all/eat

5:20pm - Sendoff

5:45pm - get dressed

5:55pm – inspection-Leaders – be detailed and physically see all items/check if jugs are filled

6:10pm - Depart

6:40pm – Arrive at Comalander

7:15pm – Warm Up and tune in stands

7:20pm – SSB sung by elementary students

7:30pm – Game Begins

10:00ish – Game ends

11:00ish – Arrive, put uniform away, check out with leaders/Uniform Crew, dismissal

SATURDAY – US BANDS REMO CUP

9:15am – Band Hall Opens

10:15am – Run through rehearsal begins wear travel shirt, athletic

shorts, long black socks, marching shoes, arrive w/ hair done

11:15am – Rehearsal ends/eat provided lunch/pack/load

12:15pm – depart

3:00pm – arrive at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex Round Rock

restroom/water/unload

4:00pm – Warm Up

4:30pm – Warm Up ends/move to gate

4:45pm – Performance

5:00pm – Stack instruments and head into stands for awards

5:15pm – Presentation of Awards

5:45pm – Out of uniform/Dinner at Stadium

6:45pm – Gates Open

7:00pm – Finals Begins

10:00pm – Finals Ends

10:15pm– Finals Presentation

11:15pm – Depart for San Antonio/meal provided

2:30am – Arrive on campus/dismissal

***STUDENTS: Our competitive season is coming to a close and we have worked so hard for a great end to this season! Please you’re your show shirt for Friday and Travel Shirt for Saturday. On Saturday, please arrive with your hair done and having the correct materials. Take time to enjoy all that you have accomplished. Please pass school. Be at tutorials and get work turned in, please. Get your work completed and turned in on time. Instruments go home this weekend. Please be participating in your fundraiser as this only benefits you! We will have a costume contest at the Trunk or Treat after rehearsal. Please dress in regular rehearsal clothes and change into costume after. We will end a little early to do so.

***PARENTS AND STUDENTS: We look forward to having you at our Trunk or Treat and the entire family is invited to enjoy the night. Please swing by our final stadium rehearsal to support the kids and enjoy a tasty treat on the way out!
