Sixth Week of School

Week 6 of School – 9/23/19-9/27/19 – Rehearsals, Midwest & Guard Sectionals/Heroes Stadium Rehearsal w/ Clinician/Spaghetti Dinner/Night Pep Rally/Homecoming Game vs Reagan Postgame

Congratulations Charger Band!  What a great and successful start to our competitive season!  Winning the Visual Competition Award and placing 3rd Overall is a big achievement.  At the start of the summer I told the ensemble that our goal was to not only make finals, but place in the top have at Finals.  While there were many gasps from the audience then, you took on the challenge and completed your goal.  Congrats to you and now it’s time to keep pushing for our mid and end of season performances. Please take time to thank all the parents that helped us get to and from safely on our trip.  From the Crew having everything set up, on the field and staying dry from the weather, to the food delivery team, water hydration team and our chaperones getting us to and from, you are all much appreciated.

Our 6 weeks grade check is this week and as great a success BOA was, we must have everyone eligible!  I DO NOT want to have a lose of students due to grades, so please be at tutorials and turn in your work. This is a busy week, so please plan ahead.

Much like last week, we will have a run through just before we leave for our performance.  This week that performance will be the game.  Do move quickly for this so we can leave to the game on time.  We will have a postgame performance at the game this week.

***STUDENTS:We will spend time in classes to go over the details that were lacking when it came to having materials this weekend.  This was not successful for us and was an issue.  We will need our show shirt for the night pep rally just after our rehearsal.  PLAN AHEAD.   6 weeks grade check is this Friday.  HAVE ALL WORK TURNED IN TO TEACHERS and GO TO TUTORIALS.  Please pass school.  Uniforms are due back to the uniform room by Tuesday morning-please have them washed upon return.  New music will come out for homecoming halftime.  That must be in your flip folder ready to go once it is passed out.

***PARENTS AND STUDENTS: Thank you to the Bradley Bear Band for performing in our place at the football game!  They were great!  We have our Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction this Thursday ta 5pm – see ya there!  Check out our band website for various volunteer opportunities.  In order to do so, you must cleared a background check.  We NEED your help on fundraisers!  Please participate.  Please start using the google calendar for up to date Charger Band happenings.  You can sync the calendar to your smart phone by clicking the +google button at the bottom right of the calendar at www.wcchargerband.org
